Private Equity Investment Team - Vice President

POSITION DESCRIPTION

HQ Capital is currently seeking a VP level candidate for its Investment Team. The position will be based out of HQ Capital’s office in Miami. The VP position will focus predominantly on the firm’s North American fund and direct (co-) investment activity. Team members will also be asked to contribute to sourcing investment opportunities and to participate in activities related to fundraising for HQ Capital funds and managed accounts and will also contribute to other projects that further enhance HQ Capital’s product offerings and operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, this role will work closely with the Head of the US Investment team on the following items:

  • Sourcing, evaluation and execution of primary and direct (co-) investment opportunities.
  • Leading due diligence processes, creation and preparation of investment memoranda.
  • Presentation of quantitative and qualitative analyses (e.g., strategy assessments and financial models) in Investment Committee memoranda and other investment-related documents.
  • Supporting portfolio management activities: reporting, liquidity planning.
  • Management and coaching of analysts throughout the investment process.
  • Preparation of fundraising materials, RFPs and investor presentations.
  • Monitoring of existing investments, including correspondence with related external third parties (e.g., co-investors and general partners) and preparation of analyses related to portfolio management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep understanding and passion for investing and markets.
  • 7+ years of work experience in private equity fund investing and direct (co-) investment areas.
  • Candidates with significant investment knowledge coming from private equity, consulting, or investment management are encouraged to apply.
  • Established network of relationships with private equity managers.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a small team setting and in a flexible work environment.
  • Commitment to high quality work product demonstrated through intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, thoughtfulness and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working in other Microsoft Office products.
