Senior Investment Manager (m/f/d)

POSITION DESCRIPTION
HQ Capital is currently seeking a Senior Investment Manager to join our European Private Equity investment team in Germany. The successful candidate will be focused predominantly on the firm’s European fund and secondary investment activity with additional exposure to direct (co-) investments. The Senior Investment Manager will also support fundraising activities in the European market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sourcing, evaluation and execution of primary, secondary private equity and direct (co-) investments across the European market.
  • Leading due diligence processes, creation and preparation of investment memoranda.
  • Presentation of quantitative and qualitative analyses (e.g., strategy assessments and financial models) in Investment Committee memoranda and other Investment related documents
  • Portfolio management activities: reporting, liquidity planning.
  • Management and coaching of junior staff throughout the investment process.
  • Preparation of fundraising materials, RFPs and investor presentations.
  • Monitoring of existing investments, including correspondence with related external third parties (e.g., co-investors and general partners) and preparation of analyses related to portfolio management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6 - 10 years of work experience in private equity fund investment areas.
  • Candidates with significant investment knowledge coming from private equity, consulting, or investment management are encouraged to apply
  • Deep understanding and passion for investing and markets
  • Strong academic qualifications
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a small team setting and in a flexible work environment
  • Commitment to high quality work product demonstrated through intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, thoughtfulness and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working in other Microsoft Office products
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, commercial acumen and outgoing personality
  • Experience in managing, motivating and developing professionals
  • Flexibility for frequent travelling – typically within Europe
  • Fluent in German and English
